BEAUTIFUL -- GLENN
Thanks, Glenn! The words are personally significant, I think the symbolism is evident, but what may be less evident is the style choice. As I've discussed before in this blog (oh, my my how pretentious that sounds!), after years of experience, I have come to believe that needlepoint (one hole, one stitch) is more effective--or, at least, more pleasing to me--when it tends towards stylization, rather than trying to force naturalistic results out of the rigid and regular canvas grid. With this piece, I finally achieved something I've been yearning to do: a design profoundly influenced by the *marvelous* work of the Beggarstaff brothers (about whom I also have written on this blog). Thanks so much for following my blog!!!!!
